Unit Objectives and Assignments for Week 15!

*Drafting Assignment 4 "Proposal Assignment": Since as a group, you put together a strong and clear outline for your proposals and found sources, this week, you are going to start drafting your proposals. This first draft, you need to put the emphasis on these sections included in the assignment description:

6) Project or Product/Service Description

7) The Project Outcomes or the Rationale for your Proposed Product or Service (The Body of your Proposal)

8) Conclusion/Recommnedations

These sections are the core parts of your proposals. As indicated in the assignment description, you need to have a minimum of 8 pages for these three sections combined for the final submission. For the first draft, it will be smart to have at least 5 pages prepared. In this way, I can offer you suggestions/feedback on how you can strengthen the content of your proposals and arguments for you to meet the minimum page requirements for this assignment. Make sure to incorporate the sources you have to the content of your proposals and cite your courses by following APA guidelines. In the week 14 unit, I provided you strategies on how to integrate sources effectively to the content of your arguments. Here is the link to the Unit 14 notes just in case: http://edaozyp.pbworks.com/w/page/133147461/Unit%2014

While you need to focus on these three sections highlighted above, you also need to format your proposal properly following the guidelines included in the assignment description so that I can provide feedback on those areas as well. In response, make sure to incorporate your

1) The first draft of your Cover Letter-Transmittal Memo (1 one page minimum for the final assignment submission. For the first draft, it does not have to be finalized)

2)Title Page: formatted properly following the guidelines in the assignment description.

3)Table of Contents: formatted properly following the guidelines in the assignment description.

4)List of Illustrations: If you are using any.

5)Abstract of Summary: 7 to 10 sentences. Follow the guidelines in the assignment description.

-Following the body of your proposals (sections 6, 7, and 8):

9) References Page: Follow APA guidelines.

10) Attachments or Appendixes: If you have any supporting documents. See the assignment description.

As emphasized in the description of the assignment, these sections do not count towards the minimum 8 pages you need to have for sections 6, 7, and 8. However, these parts are central to the main components of a proposal (genre expectations). Proper and functional implementation of these sections will speak to your professionalism and credibility, which is why you should include these sections in your first draft so that I can provide you efficient feedback on any possible areas of improvement you need to consider in your revision processes.

Submit your group's first draft to the submission box titled "Assignment 4 First Drafts." You can find the submission box in the Unit 15 section (under the weekly unit modules) on BB. The first draft submissions are due Friday (May 3) by noon. This is a group submission so one group member can make the submission for the whole group. Make sure to indicate your group's numbers and the name of your group members in your submission. For this draft submission, you are not asked to post a response to another group's draft. You will complete the final peer-review exercise next week, which is when you provide feedback to other group's drafts. I will provide you the details in Unit 16 module about the peer-review 4 exercise requirements.

*Group Conference Meetings: Since you are starting your drafting process, this Monday we will have conference meetings. We are having these conference meetings on Monday so that I can answer possible questions and clarify any confusions you might have early in your drafting processes. You need to attend these conference meetings as a group, which means that all group members are required to be present (either physically or virtually) during these conference meetings. If none of the group members can attend these conferences in person, then you can Skype as a group. Here is the link to the doodle poll to sign up for a conference time on Monday: https://doodle.com/poll/q92anvxbeww23ktz

As a group, you can only select one time slot. After you submit your selection, you will not be allowed to select another time slot. So, communicate with your group members before you sign up and make sure that your conference meeting selection works well for each member's schedule. You can use the Assignment 4 group boxes to communicate with your group members.

These are mandatory conferences, which means that not attending these conferences will result in losing half of our attendance/participation grade for this week. If you have an emergency (family and/or health) that prevents you attending these conferences on Monday, please do contact me in a timely manner so that we can come up with an alternative for you and your group members.

*If you have questions, post them to the submission box "Questions-Clarifications About Assignment 4" on BB.
